the detroit tigers in the american league series and alex savage joins us with more on why the team does not plan to open anymore seats for the game, alex? >> reporter: well the team feels they are meeting most of its demand as far as the playoff series goes and that's why the tarps will stay on. they will not be selling any tickets for the third deck seats and a sellout crowd for 36,000 between the a's and tigers at the coliseum. some fans have been urging them to take tarps off for those that are normally covered. they have collected 10,000 signatures for an online petition asking for more fans to be let inside the game. and at city hall mayor jean quan suggested she is with the fans on this issue. >> even though we didn't get extra seats, we will all be there, right? >> yes. >> and we will practice doing this, we saw a lot of white it towels but the yellow ones were classier. and they match our green seats pretty well. >> a's representatives have said they are worrying about opening them up and they have them buying tickets to the game and having lots of empty seats. they will remain

the world series right here with us on ktvu channel 2. our coverage of game one begins at 4:30 this afternoon. >>> this morning two bodies will be removed from the wreckage of a plane crash in contra costa county. the plane went down in a field at marsh creek road and byron highway yesterday afternoon. one witness reports hearingth engine sputter then an explosion. at first authorities thought only the pilot was on board but several hours after the crash, they discovered a second body. we talked to a property owner nearby the crash site. >> as far as i know it's an experimental plane and out of nevada. i don't know who the gentleman was. >> still unclear if the plane had just taken off or was landing when it crashed. the coroner is expected to release the names of the pilot and passenger later today. >>> we are learning new details about a suspicious and violent crime in castro valley. alex savidge is joining us now. alex. >> reporter: good morning. this was a brutal crime according to sheriffs investigators. an intruder broke into this home behind us and attacked the woman

de la vega is out at the scene to tell us what police are saying this morning. >> reporter: this is a popular shotting center. during the day this place is packed here. this shooting happened between babies r us here behind me and the office max. you can see where a bullet hit the building here on the babies r us and further down, another bullet struck the side of the office max. you can see it hit it in two places. police are back at the station trying to figure out what led up to this assault. officers say just before 3:00 this morning, they responded to the plant shopping from our report that shots were fired. two men and a woman were walking in the parking lot near the office max. police say a car pulled up to them and someone started shooting. it's unclear if it was a planned meeting or a fight between the victims. >> witnesses accounts saying the vic -- victim and suspect knew each other. we trying to dig through what the argument was about. all we know shots were fired and the victim was hit. >> reporter: police tracked down that vehicle and they say that it was

not today. fog is back. now it's mainly low clouds here impacting us. temperatures today starting their trend down. 60s and 70s and a few low 80s. >>> if you are driving on highway 4, you can see it here highway 4 pretty crowded in antioch. a little slow traffic in pittsburgh. it still looks good in bay point as you drive over the point. also the willow commute continues. >>> we begin our 6:00 hour with developing story. officers tried to pull over the suspects car at eddy and lagoon that streets at 2:00 this morning. the suspects did not stop and drove off. they fired at police. no officers were hit. they did crash into a taxi. officers say the entire incident could have been far worse. >> the fact that they -- you don't know what you're coming up on. in this case now the officers know what they're coming up on goes to show you need to be cautious. >> police were able to catch one of the suspects. the other managed to escape. the taxi driver suffered minor injuries in that crash. alex savidge is out there on the scene. we'll have an update in 30 minutes. >>> time now 6:01. a dead

morning, thank you for joining us october 2nd, i am pam cook. >> steve is joining us, so get ready for a lot of different things. >>> well, it is 65 in san francisco which is warmer than antioch and livermore, so it is going to be a warm day and the key is when does that sea breeze kick in, probably 2:00 it kicks in, and it will not matter, here is sal. >>> if you are driving down to the 580 interchange there are no problems on the richmond bridge. also looking at the san mateo bridge, that traffic is heading out to the high-rise. >>> we have breaking fire in vallejo, allie rasmus is there with a look at effort to control this fire and you are on el comino royal, right? >> reporter: news chopper 2 is overhead and we can show you a live picture of what this looks like right now. this fire started at 3:15 this morning and it was three-alarm fire and we don't know the cause of the fire and investigators are about to go into the house and start looking but he believes this fire started in the garage and may have spread to some of the bushes nearby. now there were two occupants inside.
